Busy first week back

We have had a busy week this week as we attended several trips. On Wednesday 2RS went to Crown Hills to take part in the year 2 sports festival and had a great day. Wednesday also saw us travel to The King Power Stadium to take part in a "Show Racism the Red Card" event hosted by Leicester City Football Club. This was a great opportunity for our year 5/6's to tackle and discuss issues to do with racism. They were lucky enough to be joined on the day by Premier League winners Danny Simpson and Wes Morgan, which was a great surprise.

On Thursday our year 6 basketball team travelled to Hamilton Academy to take part in the East Leicester Finals. The team managed to go unbeaten in the league which meant they finished top of the group. They then won their semi-final meaning they would play Hope Hamilton in the final. Unfortunately, on this occasion Hope proved to strong and we finished in a respectable 2nd place.

Finally, on Friday we got the mini-bus to New College, New Parks to participate in the East-Leicester Gymnastics competition. We took a key steps 2 and key steps 3 team and all the girls did themselves proud. Well done to all involved.
