As you know we are delighted with our recent Oftsed report.
Following our inspection on the 12th and 13 September, Ofsted have now rated our school good. This judgement is a result of all staff, governors, parents/carers and most importantly children’s determination to all contribute to improving our school.
Over the last three years we have been relentless in ensuring that teaching and learning have improved. We have improved policy and practice in relation to ensuring our children are well cared for. We have strived to develop better relationships with parents. Leadership and governance within the school now both challenges and supports the continued school improvement.
Building relationships with parents and carers has been crucial in our improvement. I would like to thank you for both your support and importantly for the times you have questioned or challenged us. I believe just like the children in school, we might not always get it right the first time or make a mistake and therefore through discussion with you we have learnt from this. Thank-you if you have taken the time over the years and during Ofsted to give us feedback about how well we are doing or offered your suggestions. It is such team work as this and that seen by Ofsted across the school, which has allowed our school to improve.
We are looking forward to the next stage of our development to become an outstanding school. We are looking at reshaping our curriculum and assessment processes further to reflect our community and to engage children in a variety of exciting learning opportunities. We want to develop ways of supporting families with very young children before they start school.
I look forward to working with you all in the future.
My favourite quote by a child to an Ofsted inspector was ‘This school is always looking for ways to improve’. A child couldn’t say anything better.
