Day 5 - Writing activity     Who am I?

  • A character is a person or an animal in a story. Ensure that your child understands what a character is.
  • Parents, you are going to describe a character. Read the character description below. Make this as exciting as you can.           Your child has heard this story before so don't worry,  it is a well known children's story that we all love.
  • Even if your child guesses who it is, continue to read the whole description.
  • Can your child describe this character?
  • Draw - Encourage your child to draw the character as you read the description.
  • Parents why don't you also draw the character too - enjoy and imagine what the character looks like(visualise).
  • Storytime - Enjoy watching the story below, this is where the character will be revealed. Did you guess correctly?
  • Now here's the writing part - What do you remember about the character?  For example: Purple prickles                              wart on the end of nose. Write some descriptive words around your character.
  • Think about the sounds you can hear in order. Always keep your writing neat and remember to form letters correctly.

Spring

Spring is here!

What signs of spring can you see?

Look outside your window or go into your garden and what can you see?

Are there flowers growing?

Are the trees blossoming?

Can you hear the birds singing?

Can you spot the bees buzzing around?

What is the weather like?
