Hello Year 3,
Hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful weather! 🌞
You’ve guessed it! The quote is from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Our writing will be based on this book and most of our topic will be based on chocolate! 🍫 (We can’t wait too!) Well done if you got it correct! 👏🏻
This half term we have created a folder called ‘Half Term Activities’ where you can find different exciting activities to have a go at. Have fun and be creative with them!
For those of you who are celebrating Eid this weekend, we would like to wish you and your families, Eid Mubarak! It will be very different this year, not celebrating with all our families and friends but it is very important that we keep safe. Enjoy the weather, the treats and maybe some fun video calls!
Have a fantastic break! Rest, keep smiling and most importantly stay safe! 😊
See you all very soon,
Year 3 Teachers
Afternoon Year 3,
We hope you and your families are all well, and you have made some amazing memories! We can't wait to hear all about what you've been up to. We're in the last week of the first half term! Can you believe it?
Our topic this term was 'Predators'. Can you tell one of your members of your family 10 things you have learnt?
In the last half term we will be learning about...
We would like you to guess... your clue is...
Mrs Stretton writes to you every Friday. It's a very interesting read and keeps you updated.
See you all very soon,

Hello again Year 3,
We hope you're all well and enjoying the sun. We're already in Week 7 of Lockdown, and half way into the first half of Summer Term! It's flying by!
Tomorrow is the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. We have put up some fun activities for you to do. You can find them in a folder called, 'Friday 8th March - 75th Anniversary of VE Day'. Try to do at least one reading comprehension and at least one Maths activity. Have fun!
We hope you are all finding time to read daily and having a go at the work we have set. We would love to see what you are all up to! Send us an email to email@example.com (ask your parents for help!)

Morning Year 3! 😊
I hope you all enjoyed the sun at the weekend.🌞
We're already in the second week of the Summer Term. It's flying by fast, and we're all missing you!
On Monday, you all experienced a virtual tour at West Midland Safari Park (We know you were all looking forward to visiting the Park, we were too, but we think this is the next best thing!). How was it? What was the best bit? How did you feel?
Miss Patel loves tigers so she particularly enjoyed the drive-through the carnivores! Wasn't the king of the beasts – the African lion, a phenomenal animal to watch?
Mrs Crompton loves elephants. She enjoyed watching the extremely clever African elephants as they explored their surroundings in Elephant Valley.
Miss Ghumra loves giraffes. She enjoyed feeding the elegant giraffes. Would you like to feed them? Do you know how long a giraffe's neck is? A giraffe’s neck alone is 6 feet (1.8 meters) long!
We can't wait to read your recounts. You could draw your favourite animal you saw using whatever artistic tool 🎨 you want, and tell us why you like them. You can send it to us via the parent email (please ask for permission first).
Also, a fantastic effort on Spelling Shed everyone! 👏🏻 Look out for an upcoming Times Table Rockstar Battle. Start preparing!
Those that are observing Ramadan, hope you all are having a peaceful and reflective time.
I hope you are all well and staying safe.
Speak again soon,
Miss Patel, Mrs Crompton and Miss Ghumra ☺️

How are you feeling? We are imagining all the smiles on your faces. I know these are strange times and you all can’t wait to come back to school (we can see all the nods!) but this is our time to cherish the special moments with our families, and make some exciting memories that you can share with us very soon! If you would like to send us a diary entry or a letter to tell us all about what you have been up to, we would love to read them. Send them using the email firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re all making sure we have our daily exercise in our garderns. How are you making sure you have your daily exercise?
Have you been reading everyday for atleast 20 minutes? What is your book about? Can you tell me a summary? What’s your favourite part? Remember to tune into ‘Story time with Mrs Crompton’. It’s a watch that just can’t be missed!
We miss you all! We hope that you staying safe and enjoying learning in a different way. Did you remember to make someone smile today? Go on, take the chance now!

Hello Year 3!
I hope you have enjoyed the last 2 weeks Easter holidays! I know it must be tough not being able to come into school or go out very much but it will all be over very soon so stay strong and enjoy the time with your family!
Now that the Easter Holidays are over, we have started saving work for you to do in English, Maths, Reading and Topic twice a week. You will find it in 'Our Summer Term Class Work' folder. Work through them at your own pace and just try your best.
Remember there are lots of other things you could still do such as Bug Club, Times Table Rock Stars, Spelling Shed and many more links saved within the Year 3 area of our website. If you haven’t found it already, visit Miss Magee and Mr Pepper’s videos under the tab ‘Children – Keeping active, fit and healthy’!
We miss you all very much and hope that you are washing your hands and keeping safe! Until next time – Take care year 3!

Hello Year 3,
We hope you and your families are in the best of health. We can’t believe it’s already been 2 weeks since the last time we saw you all, we are all missing you!
What a strange end of term it has been! Thank you for all your hard work and your perseverance in completing the activities. From all of us – a huge WELL DONE! You are doing great! Keep it up!
This week we have added different exciting activities that we hope you have all enjoyed. Have you been tuning into ‘Story Time with Mrs Crompton’?
Over the holiday, we will be giving you one set task. Be as creative as you want! Visit the ‘Easter Holiday Homework’ folder where you can try some fun Easter activities. Get your family involved!
Don’t forget that you can access TimesTable Rockstars, Spelling Shed and Bug Club. We have noticed that some of you have not been logging in. Please try to log on to at least one of them daily. We have a challenge for you! Year 3s, let see if we can get in the top 10 in the Spelling Shed League Tables. We can only do this, if we work in a team and everyone contributes. Come on Year 3, we have definitely got this!
We would like you to get some well-deserved rest, stay active (check out Mr Pepper and Miss Magee’s page – you won’t be disappointed!), and have lots of fun!
Have a fantastic holiday! Stay at home, and most importantly, keep safe!

Monday 30th March 2020
We’ve been working from home for a week now and I hope you are all enjoying using our website and links.
This week we are beginning a new piece of writing in English. It is a report about Volcanoes. We are going to write many facts about volcanoes in our own words using paragraphs with subheadings. If you go to the Class Pages you will see what a report looks like.
We have also put some non-fiction reading about Life in Ancient Rome on the Class Pages in the reading section. This will also help you to understand how to write your report.
In Maths, we will finish learning about Time this week and completing a review of our learning at the end of the week.
There is an interesting geography lesson where you will find out the reasons why people live near volcanoes!
Look out for story time, where you can listen to Mrs Crompton read stories from home.
I hope you enjoy all this week’s activities. Remember also to keep fit by checking out Joe Wick’s daily workouts and play some games in your house such as Noughts and Crosses, Hangman or I Spy.
