Miss Chauhan

Monday 4th May 2020

Hi, it's Miss Chauhan here.

I hope that you and your families are all keeping safe and well. It has been over 6 weeks since I have seen you and I am missing you all very much. I hope that you have been spending time to do some home learning activities and finding fun ways to learn too. I also hope that you are keeping busy being creative things and exploring. I thought I should share some of the things that I have been doing.

Me and my family have been busy baking lots of different things. I've made some lovely banana loaf, Potato and Leek soup, scones, homemade sweet popcorn (goes down a treat when we are watching a film) and will be making some bread.

As well as baking I have also been busy in the garden. I am quite fortunate that I have a bit of space to be able to go out and get my hands in some soil! I had some vegetable seeds that I bought a while ago and we decided to get planting. To do that we first made a lovely little potting shed using bits of old material we had in the garden. That was a bit of hard work but fun! Right now we are growing lots of vegetables such as potatoes, tomatoes, radish, broad beans, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, rocket, beetroot, garlic and fruit like figs and raspberries and strawberries. Fingers crossed, with lots of tending and watering we will have lots of lovely fruit and vegetables to eat.

I have been doing some yoga and eating well as this helps me to stay healthy and mentally happy and focused. I try to change my activities so boredom doesn't kick in and so sometimes we play board games and my daughter got creative and made her own board game which was really fun to play. We have watched movies, been reading Harry Potter books and I've also been drawing which if you know, I love to do! We have been creative and made our own games up too using toys and household items, maybe you can try and make some games up using things at home too.

During this time I have missed my friends and family that I am not able to visit, but I have been keeping in contact with them by calling them and video calls. The neighbours too have been very supportive and sometimes we swap over food that we have made which has been really nice.

Please send pictures of the lovely things you have made or done. We would all love to see and share. Take care and I hope to message you all again soon.

Miss Chauhan.
