Goodbye from Mrs Stretton

A message from Mrs Stretton to say good-bye and good luck to all our amazing Y6 children.

Transition to secondary school is a big deal for children. This year it is even harder as they will not experience it in the usual way.

We have put together some resources to help your child. Their is advice for parents, activities for your child and links to lessons in school.

As we receive further information from secondary schools we wll post their information

Learning at home or in school.

We have planned some lessons around the themes within two books. It is part of a project called Be Awesome. Go Big.

The lessons focus on developing their resilience to change. It recognises that the change between primary and secondary can be worrying but it can also be really exciting. It focuses on enabling children to be the best they can be.

For each lesson there is a power point. You don't need a copy of the book.

There is a booklet that supports each session. A printed copy is available from school.

If you can't access the power points don't worry as all the activities are in the booklet.

Home Challenge

How many of these activities can you complete before starting secondary school?

Maybe collate your work on a power point and send it to us or your secondary school tutor.

We would love to see how resilient you have been completing the challenges. It would give us something to share with other children in the future. It would be a great reminder of how resiliently you have coped with transition to secondary school during this difficult time.

Don't worry if you don't have access to a computer to create a power point - be retro, use paper and pencil. It gives you something to look back on over the years.

Come on, be awesome. We look forward to seeing your work.

Here is your challenge. Be awesome. Go Big!
