Good morning children. It's Wednesday and you are half way through the week. I hope that you are all well and happy. Please make sure that you take some time out from learning to relax and unwind. I know that it has been a long time since we last saw you and we really miss you. Try and read everyday and look at the sounds that we have learnt so that you do not forget them.

today we are going to learn 2 letters that make one sound......... and yes you are right, it is a digraph. The digraph that we are going to learn is er. Have a look at the jolly phonics song on our website to remind you of all the sounds and actions. The phoneme er normally comes at the end of a word but sometimes comes in the middle. Some words that have er in them are, letter, sister, herb, river, mixer, flower and ladder. Can you think of anymore words with er in them?

Have a look at the videos and activities below to help you learn the er sound.
