Week of 1st June (Summer 2 -week 1)

Monday 1st June

Hello Year 5,

Hope you are all well and had a great half term. I managed to have a relaxing week. Spent some quality time with my daughter. Can't believe the week has flown by so quickly. We had such beautiful weather, my daughter enjoyed some paddling pool time. We also went for lots of walks around Water Mead which was lovely.

Today has been a strange but a great day as many of the teachers have returned to teach year 6, year 1, reception and nursery. I have been teaching  Mrs Parmar's class and it has been lovely to see some children back. Even though we were all feeling quite anxious at the beginning, we ended the day on a very positive note.

A Note to my class, I have set up a battle on TT rockstars between our class and Mrs Parmar's class. I hope you will all take part in the battle. You know how much I like to win! smiley

Hope you all have a good week.

Mrs Deshore

Good morning year 5,

Well, it's very strange for us back in school. I couldn't log in to the website yesterday (technical issues) so am messaging today instead. Did you have a good half term? It's difficult to see how the weeks are split up at the moment, isn't it? I came into school and sorted things out but also took a few days to not do school work. I finished my crochet Ludo - the quickest I've ever finished a crochet animal. Because of the technique he ended up a bit stretched, which was a bit odd. I've decided he went on a diet! I am also impressed that my first courgette fruit is now growing. It's very strange to think it was just a tiny seed a couple of weeks after lockdown started (8 weeks ago).

Hope you are all keeping well.

Miss Kyle

03.06.20 - Wednesday

Wow! Time has been flying past and I can't believe we are into June this week.  I have been really enjoying the weather and enjoyed sitting outside in the garden when I finish my work each day.  I seem to have two halves to my day - the one out in the garden and the other sat in front of my laptop.  I definitely prefer the garden but I also enjoy seeing things from people in school and keeping in touch with children and staff.

I had a meeting today with Mrs Stretton, Mr Wheeler and Mr Ranzetta via our video calling system. It was very strange meeting them while I am still working at home and the were in different rooms in school.

I would love to see some of the things you have been up to at home - inside or out.

We are going to start sending home some new reading work for you each day so maybe you could send me a message to let us know how you are getting on with it.

Mrs Deshore's class - how is the TT Rock Star battle going?

Stay safe all of you and I can't wait to see or hear from you soon,

Mrs Westmoreland

Hello Year 5,

How are you all? I hope you and your families are all well. Can you believe the weather! what is going on? you would not think we were in the month of June.  I am at school at the moment and I am sitting here in my coat as it is very cold in school. Usually, I am extremely hot, especially when I have my whole class in school. It has been a strange but also a good week as we have started to see the return of some year groups.

This week I have taught some of Miss Parmar's class and that has been great. I have also enjoyed seeing all the adults in school. We have been making sure we are socially distancing ourselves and following all the government guidelines. I started the week feeling  anxious and I have ended the week feeling happy.

I am especially pleased as my class are beating Miss Parmar's class in the TT Rockstar battle. Well done to my class. Especially those children who have taken part. A big WELL DONE  to 5 Macchu Picchu!

This weekend I am looking forward to having extra time in bed as the early wake ups have been hard!

I hope you all have a relaxing weekend and I shall message you all next week.

Best Wishes

Mrs Deshore
