SSPAN, East Leicester Boccia 28.01.22
Well done to our fantastic 5. Friday the 28.01.22 saw us head to Aylestone Leicester Centre to take part in the SSPAN East Leicester Boccia contest. For anyone who does not know what Boccia is; it is a game based on Lawn Bowls where 2 teams compete with 6 balls each, rolling or throwing their balls to get them as close to the Jack as possible. The Jack is white ball that is thrown at the start of the game. Points are awared for the team with their ball closest to the Jack, if they have more than one ball nearest to the Jack further points will be awarded.
The children had a fantastic day, and were excited just to be taking part. I am not sure any of them had expected to win but they worked really hard, showing fantastic teamwork and passion for their team, so we were so pleased for them when they accounced us as the winners.
