Welcome to Reception
We hope that your journey with us in Reception is truly a memorable one. Whether your child is a familiar face from Spinney Hill Big Ben Nursery or new to our school, we extend a very warm welcome to you.
This is a very important stage in your child's life as it prepares your child to go into the 'big' school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes.
There are 7 different areas of learning and development in the Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS)
We will work towards ensuring that your child has the knowledge, skills and understanding to meet the Early Learning Goals (ELG) in these areas by the end of the Reception year.
You are welcome to visit us and we will take you on a 'learning walk' where you will gain a greater understanding of the individual rooms, the specific teaching focus and how practitioners work with children in our care.
In Reception your child will be in one of these three classes, working with the following members of staff:
Beatrix Potter Class (Mrs Shaikh, Mrs Khan and Mrs King)
Jill Murphy Class (Mrs Parmar Gosal and Mrs Kaur)
Julia Donaldson Class (Mrs Patel, Mrs Kharodia and Mrs Kam)
