Re-Thread Project

 

'Re-Thread' is a project that aims to highlight the amount of people in Leicester involved in the textile industry (A huge estimated 1480 people!) but also look at the impact this has on the environment as a whole around the world. 
Jessica Grady is a textile artist who is working with Art Reach in Leicester to create pieces of art that explore pattern, texture and colour.

Re-Tread Project Information

  • Beat the Street Beat the Street is a fun, free way to help get kids active for the 60 minutes a day they need. The game turns Leicester into a giant playing area with grown ups and children all invited to play. There are prizes available and extra events that families can attend if they wish. You play by using a card and finding 'beat boxes' to tap it against around the city. To get 10 points you simply travel between two boxes and tap the card on each. Boxes are on lamp posts / posts and can be found using a map (paper version or via the online app or website) Each child in school will receive a pack with two cards. If the parent / carer also registers and completes the health survey the school gets a bonus 100 points.
