Development Group Mathematics Moderation Training


Leaders across school recently participated in CPD in relation to effective mathematics moderation. Liz Lambert from the NCTEM facilitated training. Leaders discussed focusing on the need to assess fluency, reasoning and problem solving - all aims of the Mathematics National Curriculum when then moderating judgements. Leaders identified how NCTEM Ready to Progress Materials could be utilised to assess children's understanding of key concepts and therefore then used to moderate children's different levels of understanding and next steps required.

Leaders will now disseminate practice and discussion within the development group.
