Late/Absence Procedures

What to do if your child is going to be late for school

We expect children to arrive for school on time but we understand that from time to time, there may be a reason why you can not deliver your child to school on time. If this happens, please call the school office

Tel 0116 2737047 as soon as possible, so the school is aware of what is happening.

There is usually a member of staff in the office from 7.30am.

What to do if your child is going to be absent from school

If your child is unwell, please contact the school office as soon as possible on  Tel 0116 2737047. There is also the facility on Parentsapp if you are registered to report absence. Additionally, you can send medical evidence via the app if you have been asked by the attendance officer or Educational Welfare Officer to provide proof of absence.

If you child has a medical appointment, please give as much notice as possible to the school office so we can mark it in the register in advance and alert the teacher that your child is going to be absent for a part of the day.

Please see our page Attendance Matters page on this website for information on punctuality and attendance and for an explanation of the difference between authorised and unauthorised absence.

If you have any concerns about attendance, please contact out attendance officer, Shazia Kapadia in the first instance on 0116 2737047.
