School Remote Learning Strategy

Spinney Hill Primary School Remote Learning Strategy

This term we have been developing a school strategy for delivering remote learning.

We have worked with IT providers and educational experts to develop our school strategy.

It is a government legal requirement that we provide remote learning to support children when they are isolating or in a lockdown. We also though would like to develop this strategy moving forward to deliver some lessons in the classroom and for tasks such as homework.

The learning content of our curriculum will be accessed through a variety of means: -

  • School App with links to class page on the website
  • Secure You Tube Group Areas
  • Microsoft Team Areas
  • Tapestry

We also use applications such as those shown below:

  •  Maths ( TTRockstars, Abacus Maths) )
  • English (Spelling Shed, Bug Club Reading, Bug Club Phonics, Active Learn –Grammar and spelling )

Teachers and children in school are busy learning new skills. Microsoft Teams in Y1 - Y6 will be used to deliver recorded lessons and where possible live lessons. Children will be able to access materials for lessons.

The children have become familiar with the set up through the introduction of assemblies.

We have developed a user guide for parents. We hope to make videos to accompany this.

Loan System

If you child does not have access to a computer, laptop or device , we are developing a loan system in school. You will be asked to sign a user agreement which states what will be described as acceptable usage.

In addition we have applied to the government for a grant for4G connectivity if you do not have WiFi. We cannot guarantee we will receive this but an application has been made.

If your child is isolating and requires a laptop please contact school and ask to speak to Mr Ranzetta.

We will do our very best to support, particularly where there are also multiple children sharing a device.
