Hello to all students, staff and parents - My name is Aran Sohal and I am proud to say I am a co-opted Governor at Spinney Hill! After graduating from University in 2021, I have embarked on a career in education. My first role was as a Learning Support Assistant at a school in Oadby; there I developed a keen interest in SEND, specialising in Autism. From there, I moved to a school in Coventry where I was a Pastoral Leader for KS3 and then specifically for Year 7. I also completed my DSL training there and took a lead on safeguarding and child protection for my year group. Currently, I am back in Leicester working as an Assistant Head of Year 8 at Crown Hills Community College, where I specialise in behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and child protection. This opportunity to serve the community I work in and have grown up around is an honour and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible and ensuring you have the best experiences and opportunities possible to thrive and gain a foundation before moving on in your educational journey.
